Hiding layers can be useful when you need to see what's behind it, or if you want to remove it without fully deleting it. In the Transition Designer, hiding layers can be useful when they aren't used in the transition.

Locked layers will ignore clicks, making it easier to ensure that they don't move by accident, and easier prevent accidentally selecting them.

Ways to Hide or Lock Layers

  • With the layer selected, choose "Hide" or "Lock" from the Layer menu
  • Use the shortcut command shift h to hide or command shift l to lock
  • Click the "Hide Layer" or "Lock Layer" checkbox in the layer inspector
  • Choose "Hide Layer" or "Lock Layer" from the contextual layer menu
  • Click the small lock or hide icons that appear when your mouse is over a layer in the layer list.
